Details for Cast Posting

Thank you to all the students who auditioned for Beauty and the Beast! Auditions went very well  and we are excited to announce our cast tomorrow. We know students have a lot of anxiety about this moment, so we have decided to post the cast online and NOT at school. You can find the cast listing right here on our blog after 4 p.m. tomorrow (December 15th). Everyone who tried out will be in the show.

STAGE CREW INFORMATION

For students interested in Stage Crew, we have information for you too!  We have made the hard choice of limiting Stage Crew to the 6th Grade this year.  This is due to concerns over safety and manageability of a large crew given the tasks they perform and the amount of supervision they are given (think expensive equipment, power tools, buckets of paint).  If we don’t have sufficient interest from the 6th grade, we will begin opening opportunities for 5th, then 4th graders.  Packets for Stage Crew are available in the front office, but you can also access them in the right-side column of this blog.  We have also provided the links below:

  • Crew Info and Packet - This provides information about Stage Crew.  Students must complete the Contract included and return to the front office by JANUARY 5th (this will be the absolute cutoff date for the 6th grade).
  • Student Information Survey (CREW) - This is the form we need you to fill out so we have all of the necessary information about your child for the production.

AUDITION INFO FOR FUTURE CAST MEMBERS

This is a reminder that auditions for Beauty and the Beast are next week.  We know many students are busy preparing, but wanted to provide a few resources for you. All of these can be found in the right hand column of this blog or below:
  1. Audition Packet - If your child has lost the packet printed from the school, all of the pages of the packet can be accessed here. Parents must sign and return the contract portion of the packet in order for their student to audition.
  2. Audition Tracks - We have provided MP3s of each of the songs for auditions to help your child prepare.
  3. Student Information Survey (CAST) - This is the form we need you to fill out so we have all of the necessary information about your child for the production.  Grab a tape measure and your child as you begin to fill this form out.

Here’s your steps to a successful audition:

  • Mark your calendar for audition dates.  Choose the date that works best for you.  Auditions begin shortly after school dismisses.  (Make a plan for getting home; students will be able to call once they are finished.)
    • Monday, December 11
    • Tuesday, December 12
  • Prepare ONE monologue and ONE song from those provided in the packet.  Do your best to memorize the monologue and music--the more prepared you are, the more confident you will feel!
  • Bring your signed cast member contract with you on the day of your audition.
  • HAVE FUN!  We know you will do a great job!  When you audition, you will enter alone and perform your monologue and song for our Director, Mrs. Lucy.  It’s fast and friendly...so don’t stress!
